Walkin' on Sunshine

So, last night I slept from 10pm to 6am. If my math is right, that is 8 hours of sleep. Straight hours. Yes, that's right. MY boys, Maverick and Tucker, actually slept through the night. And it's the 3rd night in a row they have done it.

I decided I was sleepy and frustrated enough to do sleep training, so on Monday, I nursed my boys and put them in their cribs awake. Boy, were they mad at me. They cried for about 30 minutes. But the next night they went to bed without hardly any protest and slept 10 straight hours. Can I get an Amen?! It's been over 6 months since I've gotten that much sleep, and 6 months since I've slept in my own bed. I woke up walking on sunshine that morning and every morning since.

Now we're on to naps. I'll let you know how that goes.

I don't have much else to update you with, I just needed to get out my excitement over my newfound love for nighttime.

Continue on with your day.

  1. Wow! I read you last post and started to comment on needing sleep myself! Then I said, hmm? Is there an update yet? ...And low and behold I am jealous! My husband moved out of our room(mostly because we need a new mattress for his back but the timing was perfect with the twins), so I do have my bed but the twins still keep me up most the night...good thing is I have older kids to help me during the day(btw, having a 10 yr old and 8 yr old girls BEFORE twins is a great idea!!)but I crave a full nights sleep. How did the boys do hearing each other cry? I take it they are in separate cribs? I feel like two babies crying would drive my family crazy(they can't stand one crying! Can we say two pampered girls?). My girls turned 6 months feb 20, so I feel if I don't do something now it is going to be so much harder!
Congrats on the sleep! And good luck on the naps!
